The wife of the cabinet minister of Assam. was treated by Hakim Bashirul Hoque which pleased and highly appreciated by the cabinet Minister. As a reward of this fact the minister gave an institutional shape of Unani Medicine in his state by the request of Hakim Bashirul Hoque. As a result this college was established as Tibbia college , Sylhet in 1945. The academic activities initially started at Zindabazar in a rented house. Then shifted its Campus at Chalibondor from 1983 to 2012. Thereafter, from 2012 the college continued its activities in the one acre area of land having a green field campus and excellent academic atmosphere at Shahjalal Uposhahar, Sylhet. It has two storied buildings having academic activities and outdoor service. The campus is also enriched with Herbal Gardens.
